The Division delivers live streaming audio of State Board of Education meetings. Written comments on proposed rules are accepted 30 to 60 days following publication in the Register and could be sent to the State Board office at the Division of Education. Educators from K-12, larger education and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education are working to systematically strengthen the preparation of Missouri teachers through a group named Missouri Transforming Educator Preparation (MoTEP).
In 1948, the Colorado State Constitution was amended to authorize an elected State Board of Education to give common supervision of public schools, with powers and duties described throughout Title 22 of the the Colorado Revised Statutes The initial Colorado State Board of Education was elected in November 1950, and began its work in January 1951.
The Board of Education holds regular monthly meetings, open to the public, on the second and fourth Tuesdays at six:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the Government Center, 600 East Fourth Street, Charlotte, NC 28202, unless indicated otherwise on the meeting schedule. The Department’s test vendor is prohibited from sharing AzMERIT non-test student data with any entity other than the Division of Education.
Board meetings are carried out according to the provisions of the state’s Open Public Meetings Act (Sunshine Law). Special Meetings: Sometimes, specific board meetings are scheduled for the objective of addressing specific subjects. Minutes: Minutes of all board of education meetings are offered to the public, even those of closed sessions when the motives for privacy no longer exist. In addition to these committees, Board members also serve as liaisons to neighborhood organizations, such as SEF, S4A, SpeakUp Summit, Mayor’s Diversity Forum, Garden State Coalition, UCESC, and on activity forces set up by the administration to address district challenges.
